Audience Visits vs Reveal: two ways to see who visits your site

ContactLevel can tell you who visits your website in two ways. Audience Visits shows which people from your audiences came to your site after clicking your ads. Reveal identifies individual visitors from any channel, even if they aren't in an audience yet.

Both use the same tracking pixel. They differ in who gets identified, where, and what it costs.

How the two modes compare

Audience VisitsReveal
Who gets identifiedPeople already in one of your audiencesAny visitor, from any channel
Needs a UTM parameter?Yes. The cl_audience parameter goes on your ad's landing page URLNo
CoverageWorldwideUS visitors only
CreditsNone. Included with Audiences1 Reveal credit per new person revealed. Free if the person is already in one of your audiences
PlanAudiencesReveal (a separate plan)

Reveal does not identify visitors from the EU or any other country outside the US. It also only returns person-level matches. There are no company-only matches.

What both modes need

  1. The tracking pixel installed in the <head> of your website.

  2. Your domain added under Tracking Pixel → Whitelisted domains. The pixel doesn't record visits on domains that aren't whitelisted.

For Audience Visits you also add your audience's cl_audience UTM parameter to the landing page URL of every ad that targets that audience. Reveal needs nothing extra.

Where you see the results

  • Visits → Audience Visits lists every visit from your audience members, across all audiences. Each audience also has its own Visits tab.

  • Visits → Reveal Visits lists the people Reveal identified.

  • Visits → Analytics shows charts and breakdowns of your website traffic.

Which one do you need?

Use Audience Visits if you run contact-level ads and want to know which of the people you targeted actually came to your site. It works in every country.

Use Reveal if you want names for visitors who arrive from search, social, email or anywhere else, and most of your traffic is from the US. Many teams run both on the same pixel.
