Adding UTM Params to Google Ad Campaigns

How to add your ContactLevel tracking parameter to Google Ads campaigns.

  1. Navigate to your campaign in Google Ads Manager

  2. Click Campaign Settings

  3. Expand "Additional settings"

  4. Find "Campaign URL options"

  5. In the "Tracking template" field, paste: {lpurl}?cl_audience=YOUR_AUDIENCE_ID

  6. Save

Alternative: Ad Group Level

You can also add tracking at the ad group level for more granular control. Ad group-level settings override campaign-level settings.

Verifying Your Setup

  • Use Google's "Test" button next to the tracking template field

  • Preview an ad to check the final URL

  • Check ContactLevel for click data after ads run
